Dog Treats – Canine Hardtack

Description

We have designed a dog treat that is healthy, delicious, and harkens back to the hardtack that was a staple food on ships a navies around the world. In its most basic form, hardtack is made from flour, water, and salt. Our recipe adds healthy grains, oats, and carrots to ward off the debilitating effects of scurvy. It has a small pinch of salt from an exotic locale, which varies from batch to batch depending on which ships are in port. Fortunately for modern dogs, scurvy is not a concern, but the carrots are still a healthy foodstuff. We make our hardtack by hand in the Dogwatch Galley in small batches.
